On Friday, the agency had canceled exams at 53 centres, most of them in Delhi.
According to NTA sources, most of the centers where the exam was canceled since the commencement of CUET-UG 2022 from July 15, are likely to be delisted.
Fortunately for the students, Saturday was a mess-free day after the rooted-out exercise at centers where exams in both the phases of undergraduate entrance exams had to be canceled multiple times.
“Taking cognizance of the inconvenience being caused to the students in some centers of CUETNTA reviewed the entire situation yesterday (Friday). It was found that some centers failed to follow the prescribed protocol. Any incident of non-compliance/ sabotage/ ignorance will be taken very seriously and strict action will be taken against those centers to ensure smooth conduct of examinations in future, the NTA said in a statement.
The agency is going to extend the test beyond the deadline till August 23 to accommodate the candidates whose exams were cancelled.
In addition, candidates who are facing conflict in their exam dates due to change in CUET schedule are being asked to email the admit card of CUET and the exam to be held on the same date so that a new date can be allotted. Can you
“NTA is trying to accommodate most of the candidates in their first choice city and some may have to be allotted for their second choice. However, in case of any clash of exams, candidates should write to attach both the admit cards for change in date,” said an NTA official.
NTA has informed all those candidates whose examination of 6th August was canceled on Friday through SMS and email. However, some candidates who missed the communication from NTA arrived for the exam on Saturday and got to know through the cancellation notices put up at the centres.
Of the 53 centers where exams were cancelled, 32 are in Delhi. Four centers are from Jharkhand and three centers Uttar Pradesh, The candidates who had to take their exams will now be accommodated between August 12 and 14.
Another issue that came up is that the admit cards of some candidates are showing their new exam dates beyond the official last date of 20th August. There is no mention of centers either. There are others whose exams are to be held on August 7, 8 and 10, but they are yet to receive the admit cards.
The official said: “For those candidates whose exams were canceled and will be given slots from August 12, the NTA will issue a detailed notification with the dates. Those candidates who have the exam in the next three dates but have not received the admit card means they will be allotted a different date as they could not be accommodated in the city of their first choice. And NTA is going to extend the dates to accommodate all the candidates without any inconvenience.
