Inspector CK Sirame of Dindori Kotwali said that on the complaint of former MP Om Prakash Dhurve, Chaudhary was booked under sections 153 (A) (1) (promoting enmity between different groups) and 505 (statement to public mischief) of the IPC. A case was registered under Police Station SDR.
“Dindori Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh has transferred the FIR to Delhi Police for observation and investigation,” he said.
Singh told PTI on Sunday that since the incident took place in Delhi, the FIR has been sent to Parliament House police station for action.
Dhurve claimed in his complaint that the sentiments of the tribals had been hurt by Chaudhary’s remarks.
Congress leaders have already apologized for the statement, which caused huge uproar inside and outside Parliament.
