Koh-e-Fiza SHO Vijay Sisodia Told that the girl and her family had recently come to Bhopal from another district. She had entered the fourth grade in a government school. She was going to the washroom during lunch break on Friday at around 1.30 pm when someone grabbed her from behind, put one hand on her eyes and the other on her mouth and dragged her to the toilet. Police said he sexually assaulted her but when he heard some other children coming, he lost his cool and ran away.
SHO Sisodia said, though painful, the child had presence of mind. She jumped out of the washroom and kept moving around to get a good look at the running figure. Then, she went to a teacher and asked for help. The school immediately called the police. A police team reached the school, spoke to the children and teachers and registered a case against an unknown person. During counselling, the victim told her assailant and on the basis of this, the police arrested 26-year-old Laxminarayan Dhanak. He was the only one on campus wearing a yellow shirt and red trousers. Police said the girl has identified him and the accused has confessed to his crime. Sisodia said Dhanak’s wife works as a sweeper in the school and they live in the premises.
