New Delhi: India reported 21,880 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 4,38,47,065 since the start of the pandemic, according to the association. health ministry statistics Updated on Friday.
The death toll rose to 5,25,930 with 60 fresh deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health Ministry, the country’s active Covid-19 cases rose to 1,49,482.
The health ministry said that active cases account for 0.34 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate has been recorded at 98.46 per cent.
An increase of 601 cases has been registered in the active COVID-19 caseload in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.42 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.51 percent.
The number of people recovering from the disease rose to 4,31,71,653 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent.
The cumulative dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 201.30 crores.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 2020, 40 lakh on September 5, 2020 and 50 lakh on September 16, 2020.
While vaccination for the age group of 12-14 years started on March 16, 2022, the Covid-19 precaution or booster dose administration for the age group of 18-59 years also started from April 10 this year.
The country crossed the grim milestone of 20 million COVID cases on May 4 last year, 30 million in June and 40 million on January 25 this year.
