Yuvraj Singh
Yograj Singh, father of former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has lashed out at MS Dhoni once again. Yograj, who has himself played for India having made 7 appearances in the past at the highest level, keeps criticising former India captain Dhoni on the public platform, accusing him of destroying his son Yuvraj career. In his fresh attack on Dhoni, Yograj has said that Dhoni will never be forgiven in life. The comment from Yograj has gone viral on social media.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life – first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” Yograj said while talking to Zee Switch YouTube channel.
This isn’t the first time that Yograj has taken a direct swipe at Dhoni. Earlier this year, the 66-year-old had claimed that CSK lost IPL 2024 because of Dhoni’s bad deeds. He also accused Dhoni of being “jealous” of Yuvraj.
“CSK lost IPL 2024. Why did they lose? It’s whatever you sow, so shall you reap. Yuvraj Singh is the ICC Ambassador, hats off to him! And this jealous Dhoni, where is he? He didn’t even shake hands with Yuvraj, and that is the reason why CSK failed this year,” Yograj had claimed in a viral video.
Meanwhile, Dhoni announced his retirment from international cricket in August 2020. However, the 43-year-old is still active as a player in the IPL. However, Dhoni’s future with CSK remains uncertain as there is no clarity whether the legendary stumper will take part in the IPL next year.
Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has made headlines yet again with his fierce remarks against former Indian captain MS Dhoni. In a recent outburst, Yograj Singh expressed his deep resentment toward Dhoni, stating that he would “never forgive” the wicket-keeper-batsman for allegedly sidelining his son during his cricketing career.
Yograj Singh has been vocal about his discontentment with Dhoni for many years, claiming that the former captain’s leadership style and decisions negatively impacted Yuvraj’s career. In his latest rant, Yograj accused Dhoni of playing politics within the team and blamed him for not supporting Yuvraj during critical moments of his career, including after his battle with cancer.
The Background of the Rift
The tension between Yograj Singh and MS Dhoni dates back to the period when Yuvraj Singh was an integral part of the Indian cricket team. Yuvraj, who was known for his explosive batting and crucial performances in ICC tournaments, played a pivotal role in India’s success in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Despite his achievements, Yuvraj’s career faced a series of setbacks, including his battle with cancer and his struggle to make a strong comeback into the Indian team.
Yograj Singh has often expressed his belief that MS Dhoni did not give Yuvraj the support he needed during this phase. He has accused Dhoni of deliberately sidelining Yuvraj, despite the latter’s proven match-winning abilities. Yograj has gone as far as to claim that Dhoni’s alleged bias played a role in shortening Yuvraj’s international cricket career.
In his recent outburst, Yograj Singh did not hold back his emotions. He criticized Dhoni for his leadership during Yuvraj’s tenure in the team, accusing him of betraying his son and not allowing him to flourish. He mentioned that Dhoni’s influence within the team dynamics prevented Yuvraj from getting the recognition and opportunities he deserved, especially after his cancer recovery.
Yograj went on to say that while the cricketing world may have moved on, he would “never forgive” Dhoni for what he perceives as the mistreatment of his son. His comments have reignited the debate over whether Dhoni played a role in the premature end of Yuvraj’s cricketing career at the international level.
Yuvraj Singh’s Perspective
Yuvraj Singh, on the other hand, has maintained a more diplomatic stance on the issue. While he has occasionally hinted at the challenges he faced during his comeback, including not receiving the kind of support he expected, he has never openly criticized Dhoni. In interviews, Yuvraj has expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had while playing for India and has chosen to focus on his contributions to Indian cricket rather than dwell on past grievances.
Yuvraj’s restrained approach stands in contrast to his father’s outspoken criticism. However, Yograj Singh’s repeated accusations against Dhoni continue to fuel speculation and controversy in the cricketing community.
Impact on Public Perception
Yograj Singh’s comments have sparked mixed reactions among cricket fans and experts. While some sympathize with his perspective as a father who feels his son was wronged, others believe that such statements only serve to create unnecessary friction and tension. MS Dhoni, known for his calm and composed demeanor, has not publicly responded to these accusations.
For cricket enthusiasts, this ongoing feud remains a topic of interest, especially given the stature of both Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni in Indian cricket. Both players are celebrated for their contributions to the national team, and their legacies are etched in the memories of millions of fans worldwide.
Conclusion
Yograj Singh’s fierce rant against MS Dhoni reflects the deep resentment he continues to harbor regarding his son’s cricketing journey. While Yuvraj Singh has chosen to move forward, his father remains vocal about his dissatisfaction with Dhoni’s leadership. As the debate over Dhoni’s role in Yuvraj’s career continues, it underscores the complex and often emotional nature of sports, where personal and professional lives intersect in ways that can leave lasting impressions.
