Nishi’s husband Sanjay Singh Bhadli confirmed that the senior actress died due to medical complications two days after Nishi celebrated her 50th birthday. In an interview to eTimes, Nishi’s husband Sanjay said that for the past few weeks the actress has been struggling to even eat due to a severe throat infection. He revealed that she has given up solid diet and is living on liquids. Sanjay told ETimes, “The biggest irony is that we celebrated her 50th birthday yesterday (September 16). Though she couldn’t speak, she seemed very happy. I requested her to eat her favorite besan ka laddu and she did.”
He said, “She fought a lot to survive. She died at 3 pm. Her being with me for 32 years was the biggest pain. Even though she was sick, she was with me. Now, I have no one. Call a family other than our two children.”
Sanjay reveals that his daughter dropped her studies to take care of her mother, she skipped her board exams and he too cannot take up any work as he needs Nishi by his side. In his chat with the portal, Sanjay also opened up about the financial difficulties he faced after he was forced to sell his house and car in March for his wife’s medical treatment. He revealed that some of his friends and colleagues from the industry including Ramesh Taurani, Gul Khan, Surbhi Chandana and CINTAA provided financial support.
As for Nishi, she suffered a stroke in February 2019 and another in 2020. However, she was unable to recover after another attack in May this year. Sanjay revealed that Nishi’s condition worsened after the last stroke, adding that the family is currently bearing Nishi’s irreparable loss and their financial assistance.
