Prime Minister Modi, Sonia, Rahul pay tribute to Indira Gandhi on her 105th birth anniversary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary on Saturday. Congress president Sonia Gandhi, along with party president Kharge, paid floral tributes to the Iron Lady at Indira Gandhi’s resting place at Shakti Sthal. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda also paid their respects at Rajghat. Rahul Gandhi, who heads the Bharat Jodo Yarda, paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister during the parade on his birthday.

Prime Minister Modi, who will begin his three-day campaign in Gujarat on Saturday, tweeted, “Tribute to our former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi Ji on her birthday.”
Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh had earlier told news agency ANI that on the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s 105th birth anniversary, “Only women MLAs, MPs, party workers, panchayat members, Bharat Jodo Yatris will participate in Bharat Jodo with Rahul Gandhi.” They are going on a pilgrimage. ‘Mahila Shakti’.
Indira Gandhi – India’s first and only woman Prime Minister – was born on this day in 1917 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. His mother Kamala Nehru was also a freedom fighter and leader of the Indian National Congress.
