Mumbai, May 30 (PTI) Pakistan’s famous qawwali singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan paid tribute to Punjabi singer Sidhu Muswala on his first death anniversary.
At one of his concerts in the US, the Pakistani musician became famous for singing Bollywood hit songs like “Mann ki lagan”, “Jiya dhadak dhadak”, “Bol na halke halke” and “Dagabaaz re”, dedicated popular qawwali “Akhiyan Udeek Diyan” to Moosewala.
Many videos of this concert are going viral on social media. Mooswala, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh , was shot dead on May 29 last year in Punjab’s Mansa district.
The singer-rapper enjoyed a cult following in India and abroad with songs like “So Hai”, “Same Beef”, “The Last Ride”, “Just Listen” and “295”.
In Mansa, a candlelight vigil was held on Monday in honor of Mooswala.
Fans and supporters of the late singer gathered in large numbers in Musa village to take part in a candlelight vigil to demand “justice” for him. Mooswala’s mother
Charan Kaur. also participated in the rally.
Prayers were held at the Gurudwara in Jawahar K village in memory of the slain singer. PTI SHD SHD
