The court said that specialist doctor from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar would examine Parth and he would virtually be produced in a special court in Kolkata.
The ED had on Sunday moved the court challenging the trial court’s order to send Chatterjee to the government-run SSKM Hospital. Justice Vivek Choudhary reserved the verdict in the matter after hearing the arguments of lawyers representing the ED and Chatterjee.
The central agency challenged the Bankshall court’s order directing Chatterjee to be taken to the government-run SSKM Hospital.
The trial court on Saturday sent Chatterjee to two-day ED custody, while he was sent to the hospital on the request of his lawyers that he was unwell and required medical attention.
ED’s lawyers claimed that Chatterjee, a senior state minister, was an influential person and therefore should not be kept in a government hospital.
Chatterjee’s lawyers opposed the prayer and said that he was being treated properly at SSKM Hospital.
The ED suggested that Chatterjee may be treated at AIIMS Hospital, which has very good healthcare infrastructure.
Chatterjee was arrested by the central agency on Saturday in connection with the probe into the alleged school job scam and was admitted to the hospital in the evening after he complained of uneasiness.
