Chatterjee sent to two-day custody
Chatterjee was sent to two-day custody after he was arrested in connection with the recruitment scam. The central probe agency had sought 14-day custody of the Bengal minister. Now he will be produced in the special PMLA court on Monday.
Chatterjee was formally arrested after a prolonged interrogation of over 26 hours, which began on Friday morning, in which over a dozen documents were seized from his residence in Nakatla. Mukherjee, a close aide of the minister, was also arrested on Saturday evening.
The ED had recovered unaccounted cash worth Rs 20 crore from Mukherjee’s residence in south Kolkata a day earlier.
