Teen refuses to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’, thrashed | India News – Times of India

Hyderabad: Tension prevails in old city Charmahali after a 17 year old boy from the field Minority community Over 40 members of the ‘Bonalu’ procession were attacked for refusing to raise slogans.Long live Rama‘ on Thursday. At least 14 suspects were identified and taken into custody on Friday.
The student was passing by when a group of people applied ’tilak’ on his forehead and ordered him to chant Jai Shri Ram. When the girl refused, he abused and beat her. Panic spread in the area as a crowd gathered at the spot for deployment of heavy police force.
The police have registered a case of wrongful restraint, abetment to hurt and insult to the accused. An investigation is underway.
