BJP promises to implement uniform civil code in poll-bound Karnataka
Bengaluru, May 1 (PTI) In its manifesto for the May 10 assembly elections in Karnataka, the ruling BJP has promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
“We will implement the UCC in Karnataka and act on the recommendations of the High Level Committee to be constituted for the purpose,” the manifesto said.
“The Constitution of India (of India) allows us to move in the direction of a Uniform Civil Code.
‘Justice for all; It is our policy not to satisfy anyone,” said BJP National President JP Natta, one of those present at the launch event.
The BJP said it will provide three free cooking gas cylinders to all PPL families – one each in the months of Yugadi, ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ and ‘Diwali’.
“We will set up ‘Atal Aahara Kendra’ in every ward in every corporation of the state to provide affordable, quality and healthy food across the state,” the party said in its statement.
It also promised to launch a ‘Poshane’ scheme where every PPL family would be given half a liter of ‘Nandini’ milk every day and five kg of ‘Sri Anna – Siri Tanya’ through monthly ration kits. PTI GMS RS ROH
