Glenn Maxwell breaks leg after freak accident at birthday party
Maxwell has been ruled out of the ODI series between Australia and England for the time being. However, the all-rounder is predicted to miss the entire Big Bash League session.
Glenn Maxwell will be out for a long time after suffering a broken leg at a birthday party in Melbourne on Saturday. According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, the all-rounder fractured his fibula in the accident, following which he also underwent surgery.
Maxwell was jogging in the backyard with a birthday boy when the accident happened, the report said. Then Maxwell’s leg got caught and he fell down. Both were reportedly not drunk.

“This is an unfortunate accident and we feel for Glenn in a situation where he has been very contact in his last few games. Glenn is an important part of our white-ball system and we will continue to support him through his recovery and rehabilitation,” Bailey was quoted as saying in the report.
