Stones pelted on Aditya Thackeray’s convoy, ‘conspiracy’, Sena chief alleges
Shiv Sena President Aditya Thackeray’s car was pelted with stones during a rally in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad last night, party president Ambadas Dhanve said on Wednesday. News agency ANI reported that Thackeray’s event clashed with Ramabai Ambedkar’s birthday celebrations at Mahalgaon village during his Shivsanwad yatra.
After the incident, Danve , who belongs to former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s Sena wing and is the leader of the opposition in the assembly, wrote to the director general of police complaining about the security lapses.
Danve said the stones were pelted by ‘anti-social’ forces to drive a wedge between the two groups.
“There was stone pelting on Aditya’s vehicle in rural Aurangabad on Tuesday. Please look into it and strengthen security of Aditya Thackeray,” he said.
According to Danve , a stone fell inside the venue and others were attacked as Thackeray’s convoy was leaving. “The crowd raised slogans in support of the local MLA, Ramesh Bornare. This was an attempt by the anti-social elements in the gang to create division…” he said.

Danve said the crowd became angry after police told them to stop their event and procession, and that’s when the blasts began.
“Looking at the situation, Thackeray came down from the stage and gave a speech. He apologized to the crowd for the inconvenience and said that if they want to have a DJ play and march they can,” he was quoted as saying by ANI. .
