An Exclusive Insight into the Mind of Akarsh Mewara: Author of the Book The Balloon Boy
Clever Fox Publishing: Tell us something about your background.
Akarsh Mewara: I am Akarsh Mewara studying in 9th standard living in Pune, Maharashtra, India. I have a 7 year old sister who is very naughty. I like to play basketball and tennis and I also love to draw and paint. I also play the piano and have a youtube channel making tutorials of how to play different songs on piano. My dad works in an IT firm and my mom is self employed,My Grandparents staying in Rajasthan.
Clever Fox Publishing: When and how did you start your writing journey?
Akarsh Mewara: I started writing ‘The Balloon Boy’ when there was a covid 19 lockdown in the city and nobody could go out so I was really bored at home. I used to read a lot of ‘diary of a wimpy kid’ books and I was really fond of those. I would read those books and spend my time. I just had a though that I should also write a book of mine since I was so free and literally had nothing to do so that was what I did. After 2 year when the corona virus threat started to slow down and when the schools started, I had to study again because I didn’t study in online school but I didn’t give up on my book and still continued.
Clever Fox Publishing: What is your book all about?
Akarsh Mewara: ‘The Balloon Boy’ is a fiction book about a boy named Josh Jones who is from a different planet where every person is like a balloon. The book tells five different exciting stories about Josh and his planet where the reader will be stunned. My book has five chapters and 250 pages.
Clever Fox Publishing: What prompted you to write this book?
Akarsh Mewara: Me being bored and wasting time did not feel right and I had to do something and take the lockdown period as an opportunity so I had the idea to write this book.
Clever Fox Publishing: How was your pre-writing experience? What urged you?
Akarsh Mewara: I have never written a book before so I do not have a proper pre writing experience. Nothing has urged me, it is just the inner self of me speaking out.
Clever Fox Publishing: How was your writing experience? Smooth or bumpy?
Akarsh Mewara: My writing experience has been really bumpy since I had to do many things to make this book. I have taken many efforts for completing this book. All pictures in it are hand drawn from me and I have not taken any help from a grown up. I had to make time out from studies and continue my book. Even though I hit some dead ends but I still didn’t give up and continued.
Clever Fox Publishing: How much did your publishers contribute? Did they ease the process for you?
Akarsh Mewara: The publishers contributed a lot since they helped making this book written on a notebook bring it to the real world and spread the story to everyone. They did ease the process for me but I did have to follow up a little since there were a few mistakes in editing the book to the final copy.
Clever Fox Publishing: What is the reaction of your family and friends to you writing this book?
Akarsh Mewara: After my parents got to know that my book they got really excited and happy. When I told my friends my book has finally been published they were also really happy for me. Some of my friends knew that I had been writing this book from a long time so they were also quite reliefed that I had finally finished my year long task.
Clever Fox Publishing: Mention the people who supported you in this journey.
Akarsh Mewara: My Mom and Dad supported me a lot in this journey. My grandparents had always motivated me for doing this and also my friends did. My classmates knew about this so they have also supported and motivated me.
Clever Fox Publishing: How is your book going to impact the readers?
Akarsh Mewara: The book will impact the readers in a positive way as the book gives a very good message about bravery and never give up. The readers will be really entertained and fond of this new fiction book.
Clever Fox Publishing: How do you deal with negative comments if any?
Akarsh Mewara: yet I do not have to deal with negative comments but people get jealous of me and try to discourage me but I do not pay much attention to them and I eventually forget their words.
Clever Fox Publishing: Who are your literary mentors and role models?
Akarsh Mewara: I have been inspired by the author Jeff Kinney who has wrote the series ‘ Diary Of A Wimpy Kid’. I really like the contents of his book series and I really find it entertaining. I have also believed that that you should never give up so that is a really important thing.
Clever Fox Publishing: What are your upcoming writing ventures?
Akarsh Mewara: I look forward to publish more books on The Balloon Boy series and make more fun content. I will create a series of my books which will be even more exciting.
Clever Fox Publishing: Any piece of advice for our aspiring writers?
Akarsh Mewara: Any other writers out there who want to write a book by expressing their ideas should not give up and go for it. If anybody stops you or discourages you just ignore and move ahead. This way you will succeed in writing a book.
