New Delhi: Congress leader DK Sivakumar lost today as the Congress party got a huge victory in Karnataka. Sivakumar said he promised Sonia Gandhi, “I will save Karnataka”.
“I promised Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge that I will save Karnataka. I will never forget Sonia Gandhi coming to meet me in jail,” 61-year-old Sivakumar told reporters.
The Karnataka Congress leader, who is vying for the post of chief minister, said, “Congress office is our temple. We will decide the next step in the Congress office.”
Talking about his party’s massive victory in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar broke down.

He added: I thank all the leaders in my state including Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah, 75, is his main rival in the race for the chief ministerial post.
“This is a big victory for the Congress party. People of Karnataka wanted change. This is a mandate against Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Siddaramaiah said.
Within 2 hours of the counting of votes, the Congress crossed the halfway mark in Karnataka. The party expects to win at least 120 seats. The party appeared to have made huge gains at the expense of the secular Janata Dal (JDS).
The incumbent BJP conceded defeat and said it would make a comeback during next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
“Despite many efforts by the Prime Minister and BJP workers, we have not been able to make a mark. We will do a detailed analysis once the full results are out. We are taking this decision as part of our move to come back. In the Lok Sabha elections, outgoing Chief Minister Basavaraj Bombay had already said, “BJP will win.
