Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat his friend and praised him for attending the launch of the state’s first Vande Bharat Express despite political crises in his Congress party.
The Prime Minister addressed the Vande Bharat Express flag-off ceremony through video conferencing. At the end of his speech, Modi also pointed to the demands made by Chief Minister Khelat and the political tussle in the Congress.
“My special thanks to Gehlot ji as he is facing many political crises these days, but despite that he spared time for development work and participated in the railway project. I welcome him,” Modi said.
Vande Bharat Launch Party was organized at Jaipur Junction Railway Station. It was attended by Railway Minister Ashwinin Vaishnav, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and others.
Noting that both the Railway Minister and Railway Board Chairman are from Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said, “I want to tell Gehlat ji that you have latts on both your hands… The Railway Minister is from Rajasthan and the Chairman Railway Board is also from Rajasthan.
“The work that should be done immediately after the independence has not been done till now.. But you have faith in me and put that work in front of me today, that is the strength of your faith. Thank you for your trust in my friendship, friendship,” Modi added.
