Cong slams PM Modi over ‘Rozgar Melas’
New Delhi, May 16 (PTI) Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a lack of job opportunities, the Congress accused him of “personalizing” and “ruining” governance by taking it to “new lows” with his “Rozgar Melas”.”.
The opposition also said that the prime minister who “destroyed” lakhs of jobs is known to the youth of this country who are looking for jobs.
The Congress attacked Modi for handing out appointment letters to 71,000 people at the “Rozgar Melas”. on Tuesday.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge posted on Twitter in Hindi, “Modi, who promised to provide 2 crore jobs every year in nine years, has so far shattered the dreams of 18 crore youth. There are 30 lakh vacancies in government departments, but today an event is organized to distribute only 71,000 recruitment letters! The Congress party will give a befitting reply to the “betrayal” of the youth, he said.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh lashed out at the Prime Minister over the “Rozgar Melas”. personalizing governance like never before, saying he has “destroyed” the regime. “As if he personally created these jobs through his “Rozgar Melas”. and he personally pays the recipients of these jobs, as if the recipients of these jobs should feel like they belong to him and him alone,” Ramesh tweeted.
Job seekers in this country know that this PM is the one who destroyed lakhs of jobs in government and private sector through demonetisation, wrong GST, freeze of MSMEs and wholesale privatization of PSUs.
“The Prime Minister says he is a self-made man. It is clear that he is obsessed with the man who made him,” Ramesh said.
Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday asserted that his government’s reforms in the recruitment system have put an end to corruption and nepotism as he handed out appointment letters to 71,000 people at the “Rozgar Melas”.
From applying for government jobs to declaration of results, the entire process has been done online, he explained about job opportunities and infrastructural development introduced by the BJP regime at the Center in the last nine years. PTI ASK DV DV
