According to a report on Fox News, US President Joe Biden attacked a reporter on Thursday after he asked about his family’s business ties to China. He stormed out of the press room after complaining that journalists were not behaving “polite”.
“Has your ability to deal with China been compromised by your family’s business ties in China, President Biden?” A reporter addressed Mr Biden aboard a Chinese spy balloon, according to the outlet, and subsequently shot it down. With a dismissive laugh, Mr. Biden said, “Give me a break, man.”
Another reporter can be heard asking the president to respond to criticism that he overreacted to the Chinese balloon. The President of the United States responded by instructing him and others who were more polite to see him later.
“You come to my office and ask us a question where are the most polite people,” he said before leaving.
Mr Biden said during the briefing that the three devices brought down following the Chinese spy balloon were likely from private companies and are not believed to be linked to China.
Despite Mr. Biden’s assurances that there would be no family business conflicts during his administration, the Wall Street Journal reported that Hunter Biden still holds a 10 percent stake in Chinese state-backed BHR Partners through Skaneateles LLC. For his mother’s hometown in New York.
The outlet added that Hunter Biden co-founded BHR Partners in 2013, just weeks after traveling to China on business with his father. Although his lawyer said the BHR shares were sold in late 2021, no details of the alleged transaction were provided.
