Microsoft services face massive outages; Groups, Outlook, Store stop responding

Microsoft services including MS Teams, Outlook, Azure and Microsoft 365 are down. Most crash reports are received from Indian users. Downdetector has 3500 reports for groups alone. LinkedIn, the popular professional social media site, is experiencing an outage. Outlook users in India have registered over 3,000 reports so far.

Microsoft has also acknowledged the issue. A tweet of Microsoft 365 status said, “We are investigating issues affecting several Microsoft 365 services.”

Microsoft Azure, the company’s public cloud platform, is experiencing an outage that leads it to believe the server that hosts Microsoft services is infected. Most users in Microsoft Groups were unable to send or receive messages or join scheduled calls due to the outage.

Teams and Outlook are two of the most used professional apps and the impact of the outage is leading to a commemoration on Twitter.
