New Delhi, May 1 (PTI) The Congress on Monday termed the BJP’s manifesto for the Karnataka elections as a “JhootLoot BJP Moneyfesto” and asserted that people would vote for the party.
In its manifesto for the May 10 assembly polls, the ruling BJP has promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Karnataka. It also promised to provide three free cooking gas cylinders to all PPL households – one each in the months of ‘Yugadi’, ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ and ‘Diwali’.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on Twitter, “In the last 9 years, the Modi government has tripled the price of LPG cylinder. In the last election in UP, BJP promised to provide 2 free cylinders in a year. Today in Karnataka, JhootLoot BJP Moneyfesto has promised 3 free cylinders in a year. People are fed up with price hike, BJP’s lies and their bogus jumlas! On May 10, he said on Twitter that it is the Congress’s guarantee that the people of Karnataka will vote for the BJP.
