Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha.
However, as opposition MPs raised slogans of “Modi-Adani bhai-bhai”, Kharge was unable to hear what PM Modi was saying about him.
Kharge was seen pressing his headphones to his ears amid the sloganeering by Opposition MPs during PM Modi’s address. The prime minister slammed the Congress chief and said, “Even in Kharge ji’s area, Kalaburagi, he should see the work done. In Karnataka, 1.70 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts have been opened, including over 8 lakh accounts in Kalaburagi. So many people are getting empowered, while someone’s account is getting closed, I can understand the pain.”
Slamming the Congress party, Prime Minister Modi said that the old party never came up with solutions to the numerous problems facing the country.
“Congress is only engaged in tokenism and has never tried to find permanent solutions to the problems facing the country,” PM Modi said.

Also, when I became the Prime Minister in 2014, I saw that the Congress party was creating problems and problems everywhere, even though it wanted to create a strong foundation for the overall development of India.
Congress did nothing for four decades, but BJP worked to fulfill people’s expectations. “They (Congress) will say ‘Karibi Hadao’ but have done nothing for four decades. We are working hard to fulfill the expectations and aspirations of the people of the country.”
Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla deleted parts of Kharge’s speech on Prime Minister Modi’s “silence” on the Adani crisis.
