Selfie Box Office Collection Day 3: Akshay Kumar’s “Deception” ₹ 10 Crore Weekend 1
Akshay Kumar’s new film Selfie failed to set fire at the box office after collecting a total of ₹ 10.30 crore in its first three days, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Selfie, starring Emraan Hashmi, released last Friday and managed to crawl double figures in its first weekend. Sunday’s collection is ₹ 3.95 crore, while Taran Adarsh reports that Saturday’s collection is ₹ 3.80 crore. Mr Adarsh described the film’s business as “disappointing”.
“Selfie disappointed. Fri 2.55 cr, Sat 3.80 cr, Sun 3.95 cr. Total: ₹ 10.30 cr+. India Biz,” tweeted Taran Adarsh. Check out the numbers here:

Karthik Aaryan’s Shehzada, which released the weekend before Selfie, is also doing well at the box office; In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan is still playing a month after its release. In its 5th weekend, Pathan’s ticket sales have added up to ₹ 507.60 crore at the domestic box office, reports Mr. Adarsh. Check out his tweet here:
Directed by Raj Mehta, Selfie released last Friday and received rave reviews. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote: “To be fair, Selfie, directed by Raj Mehta (Good News, Jagjak Jio), is certainly not as bad as Akshay Kumar’s recent releases. But then, can it be? The likes of Bachchan Pandey, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Sethu. Is it always easy to be divine? Taking a selfie may try your patience, but it doesn’t hurt one’s feelings as much as the tendency of his other films.”
Selfie, a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving License, stars Akshay Kumar as a fictional actor named Vijay Kumar who clashes with an RTO inspector played by Emraan Hashmi over a selfie to quickly record Vijay Kumar’s driving license. Co-starring Diana Pendy and Nushrat Bharuchha.
