‘Spider-Man: The Complete Spider-Verse’ releases in Indian theaters a day earlier.
Mumbai, May 18 (PTI) Sony Pictures Entertainment India on Thursday announced that the upcoming film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” will make its theatrical debut in India on June 1, a day ahead of its scheduled release in the US. .
A sequel to 2018’s smash hit “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” the animated feature will be released in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali, the studio said. A press release.
Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) India General Manager and Chairman Shoni Panchikaran said the passion and enthusiasm for the film among Indian audiences is overwhelming.
“To meet the unprecedented demand in our market, we have decided to release the film a day earlier and repeat it in 10 languages,” he said.
For the Hindi and Punjabi dubbed versions of the film, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill lent his voice to the Indian Spider-Man, known as Pavitr Prabhakar.
“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is set one year after the events of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
Miles Morales, voiced by Shamik Moore, unexpectedly finds his love interest Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) on a mission to save every universe of Spider-People from what could be a cataclysmic disaster.
He meets the Spider Society, a group of Spider People charged with protecting the existence of the Multiverse. But as the heroes clash over how to deal with a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most.
The film’s English voice cast includes Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, and Oscar Isaac.
