Turkey Earthquake Live Updates: A 7.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Turkey, followed by another strong tremor felt in several provinces in the region, with several buildings collapsing, reports said.
The US Geological Survey said the quake was centered 33 kilometers (20 miles) from Gaziantep and 26 kilometers (16 miles) from the town of Noordaki. It was centered at a depth of 18 kilometers (11 mi), according to the US Geological Survey.
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency was headquartered in Pasarcık, Kahramanmaras Province.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the victims of the earthquake that rocked Turkey and its surrounding areas and claimed more than 100 lives.
Expressing deep grief over the loss of lives and property in Turkey, the Prime Minister said that India stands in solidarity with Turkey at this difficult time.
“Saddened by the loss of life and property due to the earthquake in Turkey. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. India stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey and is ready to extend all assistance to overcome this tragedy,” PM Modi tweeted.
