Virender Sehwag’s savage reply after fan says ‘New Zealand se darr lagta hai’ leaves Twitter in splits
Virender Sehwag, India’s star former cricketer, is known for his explosive approach to batting on the field. However, on the social media platform Twitter, Sehwag made a name for himself for his witty jokes. On Saturday, Sehwag posted a cryptic tweet that read, “Sabse zyada dhar kisse lagta hai? (What are you so afraid of?)” He received mixed responses from fans, one of whom made a funny comment.
An Indian fan wrote “New Zealand” in response, referring to India’s loss to New Zealand in the ICC knock-out matches. The Black Caps, as they are popularly known, beat India in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup and then beat the team again in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship.
“Haan yaar, maasoom se hain but Knockout mein bada bura karte hain hamaare saath (Yeah man. They’re nice but they treat us really badly in knockouts!)
Recently, New Zealand toured India for a three-match ODI and T20I series; However, they suffered a 0-3 clean-sweep defeat in the fifty-over format, and endured another 1-2 defeat in the T20Is. The result of the T20I series was largely one-sided, with New Zealand bowled out for just 66 runs chasing 235 runs.
The Kiwis are back in action later this month when they host England in a two-Test series. The first Test starts on February 16 at Mount Maunganui.

Team India, meanwhile, will be looking to clinch a place in the World Test Championship final when they take on Australia in a four-match series starting on February 9. India are currently second in the table, with Australia comfortably at the top. The final of the 2021-23 edition will be played at the iconic Oval in June.
