Indian-origin man arrested in US for deliberately driving car off cliff
An Indian-origin man, Dharmesh A. Patel, 41, has been arrested in the US for attempted murder and child abuse after intentionally driving his Tesla off a cliff with his wife and two children in it. The vehicle fell 250 to 300 feet down the cliff at Devil’s Slide in San Mateo County, California. Firefighters and a helicopter crew rescued the four survivors, who suffered moderate injuries. Witnesses called 911 after the crash, which is being treated as an intentional act. Patel, who is from Pasadena, California, will be booked into the San Mateo County Jail after being released from the hospital. Authorities plan to charge him with three counts of attempted murder and two counts of child abuse.
