Kejriwal govt orders audit of subsidy to power discoms to check for discrepancies: Minister Atishi
New Delhi, Mar 27 (PTI) Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ordered an audit to find out if there are any discrepancies in the subsidy given to discoms, Delhi Power Minister Atishi said on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, Atishi said agencies attached to the Auditor General of India will carry out the audit and the guidelines will be issued in two to three days.
“There is a conspiracy at the highest level to stop the free electricity provided by the Kejriwal government. The files are not being shown to the Chief Minister and the power minister… This shows that there is something amiss,” Atishi said.
“Government-appointed experts on discom boards were removed earlier and now questions are being raised whether LG is colluding with discoms,” she alleged.
An immediate reaction was not available from the LG office.
Atishi said the Chief Minister has ordered an audit of the subsidy given to discoms to find out how the money is being used and if there are any discrepancies.
