New Delhi, Apr 10 (PTI) Congress vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar said that people should leave their political views behind while traveling abroad, citing the controversy over comments made by Congress President Rahul Gandhi during his recent trip. United Kingdom.

Speaking at the World Homeopathy Day function held here, Dhankhar said that when India celebrates the centenary of independence in 2047, every attempt to attack the dignity of the country should be thwarted.

“Have you ever noticed a foreign dignitary or a foreign national criticizing or criticizing his nation when visiting this great democracy? The answer is obviously no. Why can’t we be proud of our scientists, health warriors and appreciate our inventions? asked Dhankhar .

“Whenever we go abroad, we have to leave our political views. It will benefit the country and the individual,” he added.

The vice president’s comments followed Gandhi’s remarks in England, lamenting that democratic parts of the world, including the United States and Europe, have failed to notice that “a large part of democracy has been lost” in India.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Congress leader’s comments, accusing him of insulting India on foreign soil and demanding an apology from him. The uproar over Gandhi’s comments also hit Parliament, leading to a near washout of the second part of the budget session.

The Vice President has also criticized Gandhi’s comments and expressed his displeasure on previous occasions.

Addressing the homeopaths, Dhankar said that everyone should take a pledge to raise the prestige of India abroad and not allow it to be tarnished.

“We should be proud of our historical achievements and proud as Indians. India has become the fifth largest global economy and by all objective estimates, by the turn of the decade, it will be the third largest economy. This is due to the dedication of our people and their good health. If we ensure good health, nothing can stop us,” he said.

The Vice President urged businessmen and industrialists to stand firm on economic nationalism. “No economic gain can justify a departure from economic nationalism,” he said.

Dhankhar said homeopathy as a form of treatment has a rich history of more than two centuries.

“In our country, in the last few years, it has grown and become a significant factor in our health apparatus and mechanism. The World Health Organization has recognized homeopathy as the second largest and fastest growing system of medicine in the world, and it has marked its presence in more than 80 countries,” he added.
