Karnataka Elections 2023: Congress announces list of 61 election observers to monitor election preparations
New Delhi, April 15 (ANI): The Congress party on Friday released the list of party election observers for Bengaluru city and assembly level observers to oversee the election preparations for the 2023 assembly elections in Karnataka.
A total of 61 observers have been appointed by the Congress to monitor the preparations for the elections to be held in Karnataka.
“The Congress President has approved the proposal to appoint AICC observers
Bengaluru city and AICC assembly level observers to oversee the election preparations
Assembly Constituency/s selected for Karnataka-2023 Assembly Elections
Each of them has been assigned as follows with immediate effect,” the press release said.
The party has appointed 5 observers for Bengaluru city from the list of 61 observers.
“Congress Party observers for Bangalore City are Ex-PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy, Ex MRCC President Sanjay Nirupam, MP Benny Behanan, MP Karti Chidambaram, MP Jothimani,” it mentioned.
Karnataka, which has 224 seats in the assembly, currently has 119 MLAs from the ruling BJP, 75 for the Congress and 28 for its ally JD(S).
Political parties including the ruling BJP, Congress and ally JD(S) in the state have been involved in various accusations and counter-accusations, with the latter trying to stall the government on the corruption issue.
Karnataka will go to polls in a single phase on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. (ANI)
