Ratan Kumar Kesh will assume the post for a period of three years from March 31, 2023. Cash is appointed as an additional director till the date of next annual general meeting or for three months whichever is earlier.

Kesh holds a BE Mechanical degree from NIT, Durgapur and has over 28 years of work experience across multiple industries including banking and finance, manufacturing and service industries. He is an advanced quality engineer with the Quality Council of Indiana, USA. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from NMIMS, Mumbai. He was trained in Six Sigma by GE and Asian Technology Company and served as a Six Sigma Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB) in the early years of his career. He has completed Business Leadership from IIM, Ahmedabad and Strategic Agility Leadership from Harvard Business School.
With nearly three decades of stellar experience, Cash has a track record of leading complex operations including transformation, automation, customer experience, quality improvement and other related functions. He has been a leader in leading banking institutions in India such as ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank & Axis Bank, helping scale and address operational challenges with ease.
Cash joined Axis Bank in 2019, initially driving bank-wide operational transformation across all business lines. He calculated and quantified the Artificial Intelligence COE for the bank, which worked towards developing new-age technology-based interventions. He played an active leadership role in the Crisis Management Task Force during the COVID-19 pandemic and ensured smooth banking operations in a work-from-home model. In 2020, his role was enhanced across a portfolio of end-to-end retail operations to include liabilities, assets, cards, digital, wealth, NRI, ATM and bank-wide reconciliation, customer service call center and service recovery.
