BJP Leader Detained From Pulwama Widows’ Jaipur Protest, Party Reacts
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police today arrested BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena, who participated in a protest in Jaipur demanding employment for the widows and families of soldiers killed in the Pulwama attack. Chief Minister Ashok Khelat accused Meena of using widows for political gain.
Widows of CRPF jawans killed during the 2019 terror attack were removed from their protest site outside Congress President Sachin Pilot’s residence in Jaipur around 3 am today and shifted to hospitals near their respective residential areas.
Slamming the state government, the BJP accused the move of being a “disgrace to widows” and of not fulfilling its promises to families.
“I went to see Samoth Balaji with my supporters but the Samoth police stopped me, abused and abused me. Is it such a big crime to stand with brave women?” Mr Meena tweeted in Hindi along with videos of the altercation with the police.
शहीदों के बच्चों का हक मारकर किसी अन्य रिश्तेदार को नौकरी देना कैसे उचित ठहराया जा सकता है?
जब शहीद के बच्चे बालिग होंगे तो उन बच्चों का क्या होगा?
उनका हक मारना उचित है क्या? pic.twitter.com/oUBEoklIDl

Sri Rohitash Lamba’s wife has sought compassionate appointment for her brother-in-law. If a brother is given a job today, in the future the family members or relatives of those jawans may start exerting social and familial pressure to give suitable jobs to other family members for themselves and their children. Want to create such a difficult situation? The rules developed at present are based only on past experiences. How can it be justified to take away the rights of children of slain jawans and give jobs to other relatives? What happens when children become adults? Is it right to take away their rights?” Ashok Kevlad had tweeted in Hindi.
Mr Meena, who visited the SEZ police station in Jaipur this morning, said the government cannot suppress the voice of widows.

Why is the government so scared that the police will pick up 3 women warriors in one night? Don’t know where they took you? The women meet and plead with Chief Minister Ashok Khelat ji alone. Why is the Chief Minister like this? Afraid to hear them?” Meena told reporters.
