Congress is enemy of peace & development: PM in direct attack on party in poll-bound Karnataka
Mulki (K’taka), May 3 (PTI) In a direct attack on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the party’s entire politics is based on the principle of “divide and rule”. While India’s democracy and development are universally admired and respected, the country is vilified.
The prime minister called the Congress an “enemy of peace and development” and accused it of insulting and abusing India’s defense forces.
“Congress is enemy of peace and development. Investors run away when there is Congress. “Congress protects the ‘aakas’ (boss) of terrorism, they promote peace,” Modi said.
Addressing a rally in Dakshina Kannada district of coastal Karnataka, a BJP stronghold, he said the only identity of the Congress was the politics of appeasement. Will you allow such Congress to come to power and ruin Karnataka? “Any state across the country that wants peace and development, the first thing people do is throw out the Congress. If there is peace in the society and the country is progressing, the Congress cannot sit idly or digest. The entire politics of the Congress is based on the principle of divide and rule,” he added.
Today is the Prime Minister’s first election rally ahead of the assembly polls in Karnataka, and Modi is scheduled to address two more rallies.
Accusing the Congress of trying to save those arrested for conspiring to spread terrorism, Modi said he would not only withdraw cases against such anti-social elements but also release them.
The “reverse-gear” Congress is also getting electoral help from anti-national forces, the Prime Minister further alleged.
Stating that the entire country respects and honors our defense forces, Modi said the Congress insults and abuses the soldiers and soldiers.
The whole world appreciates and respects India’s democracy and development, but Congress vilifies the country all over the world.
“Is India appreciated in every corner of the world like America, Australia, Japan, England or not? Why?… This is happening not because of Modi but because of your (people’s) votes. It was the strength of your votes that formed a strong and stable government in Delhi,” he added.
Highlighting that the BJP wants to make Karnataka the number one in India, the Prime Minister said, “We want Karnataka to be the number one in industrial and agricultural development, fisheries and ports. We are working on that,” he said. He accused the Congress of trying to make Karnataka the “number one ATM” for the Delhi-based ‘Shahi Parivar’ (royal family).
