Golden Globes 2023 Live Updates: SS Rajamouli remains speechless after RRR win
Golden Globes 2023 Live Updates: The 80th Golden Globe Awards took place on January 11 (IST) in Los Angeles. Indian film RRR won the award for Best Original Song ‘Nattu Nathu’ at the ceremony. Music composer MM Keeravani received the trophy.
In the Best Original Song category, ‘Country’ was up against – ‘Carolina’ (Taylor Swift), from The Crawdads, ‘Ciao Papa’ (Alexandre Desplat, Robben Katz and Guillermo del Toro) – Guillermo del Toro’s Pinnock ‘Hold My Hand’ (Lady Gaga, Blood Pop and Benjamin Rice) – Top Gun: Maverick and ‘Lift Me Up’ (Demes, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goranson) – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The film was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. In the Best Non-English Language Film category, RRR lost to Argentina’s Argentina, 1985.
Other nominees in the category were Germany’s Western Front, Belgium’s Clouseau and South Korea’s Exit.
Best Film – Drama – The Fabelmans and Best Film – Musical/Comedy – The Banshees of Inisherin. Austin Butler (Elvis) and Cate Blanchett (Dar) for Best Actor and Actress – Drama.
Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inishrein) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once) won Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical.
