Golden Globes 2023: ‘The Fablemans’ Backs Best Picture, Drama
Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Fablemans’ won the Best Drama Film award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards held here.
To present the honor, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino took the stage to announce.
He quipped: “Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg, Elvis Presley, Cate Blanchett and whatever you call those blue men… these are the best film, drama.
‘The Fablemans’ was nominated alongside James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Austin Butler’s ‘Elvis’, Cate Blanchett’s ‘Thar’ and Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
While accepting the award, Spielberg thanked the film’s cast, producers and crew.
‘The Fabelmans’ is a semi-autobiographical story based on Spielberg’s youth and early years as a filmmaker, told through the fictional Sammy Fabelman’s original story about his dysfunctional family and those around him.
The film stars Gabrielle LaBelle as Sammy, with Michael Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Judd Hirsch in supporting roles.
