IND vs NZ series: Bad news for Indian cricket team ahead of 2nd ODI at Raipur
IND vs NZ Series: Indian cricket team is currently leading the series 1-0. It is a three-match ODI series and the next match will be played on January 21, 2023 at the Shaheed Vir Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
IND vs NZ series: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and the entire Indian cricket team will be hoping that they have come out of the corner in the first ODI in Hyderabad. Although the Indian cricket team was extremely dominant with the bat, they could not repeat their heroics with the ball. Won the series against Sri Lanka 3-0. India are currently leading the 3-match ODI series against the Kiwis with a 1-0 lead.
Ahead of the second ODI at the Shaheed Vir Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, there is some bad news for the Indian cricket team. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team has been heavily fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in the first ODI against New Zealand at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The Men in Blue have been fined 60 per cent of their match fee for their slow over-rate against the Kiwis. The first ODI was played on January 18, 2023.
What does the law say?
ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel 2.22 of the International Cricket Council states that players will be fined 20 percent of the match fee for each over.
India’s skipper Rohit Sharma accepted the offence levelled On-field umpires Anil Chaudhary and Nitin Menon, third umpire K N Ananthapadmanabhan and fourth umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal. It was decided that there was no need to conduct a formal hearing in this matter.
