India has the courage to do something, even in most difficult circumstances: PM Modi
Somnath, Apr. 26 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India has the courage to do something new, even in a very difficult situation as it faces obstacles to achieving the 2047 target and forces that threaten to derail it.
As the country completes 75 years of independence, Modi said he is proud of its heritage. “Our heritage grows when we know our heritage by liberating ourselves from slavery,” he said, stressing that India celebrates its diversity.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangam’, Modi said there are many things between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu which are deliberately kept out of “our” knowledge.
“Today we are targeting India by 2047 (make India a developed country). We also have the challenges of the slavery era and the seven decades that followed.
“We have to take the country forward, but along the way, there will be forces that threaten to break us and people who will mislead us. But India has the courage to do something new even in the most difficult circumstances,” Modi said.
He also said that India is a country that uniquely expresses its diversity. “We are a people who celebrate diversity. We celebrate different languages and dialects, different arts and knowledge. There is diversity everywhere – from our faith to spirituality,” he said. PTI KA PD NR
