Modi-Adani ‘nexus’ threat to country’s economy, security: Himachal Congress
Shimla, Feb 17 (PTI) Congress leader Akhilesh Pratap Singh said on Friday that the nexus between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adani has become a danger to the country’s people, economy and security.
Addressing reporters, he urged people to end this “nexus” by ousting the BJP government in the 2024 general elections.
Singh also accused the Center of not being ready to investigate the allegations against Adani Corporate.
“It is a very serious allegation that many foreign companies paid huge amounts to Adani. In this, the amount of money invested in Adani is more than the total value of some companies. Shouldn’t there be an inquiry into the source of this money? Congress spokesperson asked.
“We demanded an inquiry in Parliament, but the Prime Minister did not utter a word on the issue. This shows a clear nexus between the two,” alleged Singh.
He also accused the BJP-led central government of “going out of its way” in favor of Adani. The rules were arbitrarily changed to hand over airports and ports to the Adani Group. “While everyone suffered losses during the pandemic, Adani Group’s fortunes multiplied. He rose from being the 609th richest person in 2014 to the second richest person in the world,” he said.
Singh further alleged that even before the Hindenburg report, Indian agencies had flagged issues of financial and administrative irregularities against the Adani Group but authorities had not taken any action. PTI PBL VN VN
