PM Modi launches series of initiatives to eliminate tuberculosis
Varanasi (UP), Mar 24 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a series of efforts to eradicate tuberculosis, saying that India’s “Vasudaiva family” ideology brings a unified vision and solutions to the modern world.
He said this while addressing the ‘One World TB Summit’ on the occasion of World TB Day.
“India’s image is reflected in the ideology of ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam’ (one world, one family). This ancient thought provides a unified vision and solutions for the modern world,” Modi said.
He initiated many initiatives including Tuberculosis Free Panchayats, All India Short Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT) and Family Centered Care Model for TB.
Modi also released India’s Annual Tuberculosis Report for 2023.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NSC) laboratory here and inaugurated the base for the Metropolitan Public Health Surveillance Unit (MSU).
