Rahul Gandhi said in Parliament that the rules have been bent in favor of Gautam Adani

Public representatives being treated like criminals: Rahul Gandhi on Congress woman MP's detention | India News - Times of India

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who raised the Adani issue in the Lok Sabha, attacked the BJP government. He said the rules were bent to benefit businessman Gautam Adani.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi accused the Modi government of changing business rules so that Gautam Adani could make profits.

“There is a rule that no one who has no prior experience in airports cannot be involved in the development of airports. This rule was changed by the Government of India,” Gandhi said, “This rule was changed & Adani was given six airports. After that, India’s most profitable airport, ‘Mumbai Airport’.” Kidnapped from GVK using agencies like CBI, ED and handed over to Adani by Govt of India.”

Talking about how Adani became the second richest person in the world, Rahul Gandhi said, “In 2014, Adani was at the 609th position in the world’s richest list. Then, by magic, Adani rose to the second position.”

His comments come as the Adani-Hindenburg affair has caused disruption in both houses since the parliamentary session began on January 31.

Rahul Gandhi spoke in the Lok Sabha.

– “Youngsters asked us that Adani is now in 8-10 sectors and how it went from $8 billion to $140 billion from 2014 to 2022. From Tamilnadu and Kerala to Himachal Pradesh we are hearing one name – – ‘Adani’. Across the country, It’s just ‘Adani’, ‘Adani’, ‘Adani’…,” said Rahul Gandhi.

– Criticizing the relationship between PM Modi and Adani, Gandhi said, “PM Modi goes to Australia, and SBI gives Adani a $1 billion loan, then he goes to Bangladesh, then Bangladesh Power Development Board signs for 25 years. Agreement with Adani.”

– Rahul Gandhi questioned how much money Adhani paid to PM Modi and said, “How many times have you traveled together (on foreign trips) with Athaniji? How many times has Adhaniji joined you on your foreign trips? How many times? After you land in a foreign country, he reaches you? After you get there.” How many times has Athaniji signed an overseas contract?” Rahul Gandhi asked Modi. He also questioned how much money Adani has given to BJP in the last 20 years.

“The relationship started many years ago when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. One stood shoulder to shoulder with PM Modi, was loyal to the PM and helped Mr Modi create the idea of a resurgent Gujarat. The real magic started when PM Modi reached Delhi,” said Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in 2014.

– Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, people would come to him with their woes and felt that he too should express his views. When young people came to me to talk about unemployment, I felt I should tell them why it happens. However, he added that he did not want to express his opinion on matters later in the pilgrimage as the hardships people were going through were numerous.
