Rajasthan’s Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Wednesday met party president Mallikarjun Kharge, a day after Sachin Pilot went on a fast in Jaipur to demand action in cases of alleged corruption under the previous Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government.
Randhawa met Kharge at his 10 Rajaji Marg residence here for about half an hour, sources said.
The pilot also arrived in Delhi on Wednesday. There was speculation that he might meet Randhawa and other senior leaders, but sources close to the pilot said no meetings were planned.
Strongly objecting to Pilot’s call for a day-long fast, Randhawa on Monday evening said any protest against the sitting government would be an anti-party move.
However, the party remained calm on Tuesday when the pilot observed a fast.
Speaking to reporters as Pilot left the site of his fast in Jaipur on Tuesday, he said that Rahul Gandhi, Congress and other opposition parties are united in corruption and financial irregularities and his fast will accelerate this movement.
The former deputy chief minister said that he had written two letters to Gehlat last year regarding the issue, but had not received a reply.
