Scaffolding at multi-storey site crashes in Noida amid heavy rains 2 hurt
Noida, May 1 (PTI) Two persons were injured when a part of the scaffolding of a multi-storey building under construction here collapsed amid heavy rain on Monday, police said.
Two nearby temporary residences and a private car were damaged when the scaffolding fell from the height of the sixth floor.
“The under-construction building is located in Sector 64, under Phase 3 police station limits. Two people were injured, while two shops and a car were damaged when the temporary building collapsed,” a police spokesperson said.
“Vehicular traffic was disrupted as the stricken scaffolding spilled onto the nearby road. Staff from the local police station swung into action and cleared the spillovers to ensure normal movement on the road,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the incident site in Sector 64 turned into a selfie point for locals despite continuous drizzle after heavy rain around noon.
Many locals were seen taking pictures with the crashed scaffolding, and post-crash videos surfaced on social media.
In a separate incident, a pole fell on a road near the Shiv Mandir in Mamura area of the city on Monday after heavy rain accompanied by a storm.
