The Bombay High Court has issued summons to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, ex-wife and children
MUMBAI: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his ex-wife Zainab Siddiqui will appear with their two minor children on April 3 to explore the possibility of an amicable resolution of their issues in the interest of the children, the Bombay High Court said today.
A division bench comprising Justices Revathi Mohide Tere and Sharmila Deshmukh was hearing a writ petition filed by the actor to inform his ex-wife of the whereabouts of their 12-year-old daughter and 7-year-old. Old son.
The actor had alleged that his wife brought the children to India from Dubai without informing him and their education was being affected as they did not go to school.
The bench on Thursday asked the actor, his ex-wife and their two children to appear in the judge’s chambers on April 3 for an in-camera hearing.
“We are concerned for the children…we will explore the possibility of an amicable settlement,” the court said.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh told the bench that he sent the proposed consent period as per the order of the High Court.
“We have sent the proposed terms of approval. It has been six days and we have not received any response. Don’t think they want to settle,” Mr Shaikh said.
Advocate Chaitanya Burangar, appearing for Zainab, argued that she too wanted to settle the matter.
