Another mid-air ‘urination’ incident in which a drunk man peed on a woman’s blanket on a Paris-Delhi AI flight
New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) Ten days after the shocking November 26 incident on a New York-Delhi Air India flight, another episode was reported on the Paris-Delhi sector in which a drunk male passenger allegedly urinated on a female passenger’s blanket. Officials said Thursday that no punishment was imposed after he issued a written apology.
The incident took place on December 6 on Air India Flight 142 and the pilot of the flight informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport about it, following which the male passenger was arrested.
It is not known which class the passengers were traveling in.
The flight landed in Delhi around 9:40 am and airport security officials were informed that the male passenger was drunk, he did not follow the instructions of the cabin crew and later he urinated on the blanket of a female passenger. Airport officials told PTI.
The male passenger was arrested by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as soon as he got off the plane, but he was allowed to leave after the two passengers “mutually reconciled” and the accused gave a “written apology”.
The woman passenger, who initially lodged a written complaint, refused to register a police case, so the passenger was allowed to go through airport security after she cleared immigration and customs formalities, they said.
The incident comes a week after the November 26 episode in which a woman passenger allegedly urinated on a New York-Delhi Air India flight.
Based on the victim’s complaint to Air India, the Delhi Police has now registered an FIR in the November incident and has set up several teams to nab the culprits.
