RRR, All That Breathes Makes Long List of BAFTA Nominations, Gangubhai Kathiyavadi Out of Race
The BAFTA Film Awards have revealed their longlists in 24 categories, with German film All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inishrein leading the rest of the pack with 15 and 14 longlist nominations respectively. A24’s ‘Everything Everywhere All At Ones’ and Warner Bros. film ‘Elvis’ are each on the longlist at 12, as are British thrillers ‘Aftersun’ (also from A24), ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Babylon’ (both from Paramount Pictures). ) and ‘Dar’ (Focus Pictures) starring Cate Blanchett.
The longlists are based on votes from Round 1, which ended on December 30. All of these films will now advance to the nomination phase of the vote, which runs until January 13, reports ‘Variety’.
The final BAFTA nominations will be announced on January 19 at a live event hosted by actors Hayley Atwell and Toheep Zimoh and broadcast live worldwide. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 19, at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall — a change from the awards’ usual home, the Royal Albert Hall, notes ‘Variety’.
