A shocking video has emerged from Odisha showing a woman losing control of her two-wheeler and crashing into a stationary car. According to news agency PTI, the accident took place in Berhampur on Monday after the woman was chased by stray dogs and lost her focus.
A video that is going viral on social media shows three people, including a child, on a scooter and all of them are launched into the air by the impact. A dog was also trapped in the vehicle, but escaped after the crash.
The PTI report added that the child and two women on the two-wheeler suffered multiple injuries in the incident.The incident was recorded on the CCTV camera installed in the area. Odisha TV identified the women as Supriya and Sasmita.
An Odisha TV woman said, “When we were going to the temple around 6 am, six to eight dogs started chasing us. That’s when I decided to increase the speed of the scooter, otherwise the dogs would have bitten. Bullion rider.”
“A major tragedy was averted. Had we hit a power pole or other object or a drain, the accident would have been fatal,” said the other woman.
Meanwhile, Twitter users pointed out that the trio were not wearing helmets, putting them at risk of serious injuries.
“Wearing a helmet is very important, especially in India. For the health of the riders,” tweeted one user. “So sad! Dogs mostly do this for fun. All governments really ignore the danger of stray dogs,” said another.
