Indian-origin Australian woman killed, daughter injured in road accident in Sri Lanka
Colombo, Apr. 17 (PTI) A 67-year-old Australian woman of Indian origin was killed and two others, including her daughter, were injured when their car fell off a cliff in Sri Lanka.
A Colombo-side news website reported that a car carrying a woman identified as Prakash Sharita Devi and two other passengers crashed at Hemmathagama Tara Wangua.
Police said that the driver of the car and a 30-year-old woman from Wattala area who were injured in the accident have been admitted to Kampala Hospital.
Devi was identified as a resident of Sydney, Australia.
Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the driver lost control of the car due to high speed and veered off the road and overturned on the cliff. PTI AMS AKJ AMS
