All Delhi schools closed due to extreme cold: 5 points for students, parents

The Delhi government on Sunday announced immediate suspension of remedial classes for students from classes 9 to 12 in view of the severe cold in the national capital.

Though all the classes, including the reconstitution classes, are closed, the practical tests, internal assessments and projects for the candidates of CBSE Class 10, 12 will continue as per the schedule announced by the board, the Directorate of Education, Delhi said in its circular.
Due to this, Delhi schools are closed for all students except board exam students. Earlier, Delhi DoE announced winter vacation from January 1 to 15. “All government schools under the Directorate of Education will remain closed for winter vacation from January 1, 2023 to January 15, 2023,” the DoE said. “Revision classes will be conducted for classes 9 to 12 to revise the syllabus and improve academic performance of the students. These classes will help the students to revise the basic concepts of the subjects from the examination point of view.” was added.
Amidst the current severe cold weather, several North Indian states have declared school holidays for many students. According to a report by news agency ANI, all schools up to class 8 in Lucknow will remain closed till January 14.
According to the state government notification, online classes will be conducted for the students of classes 9 to 12 and if the classes are not conducted for any reason, a holiday will be declared till January 11. ANI reported that the pre-board practical classes will be held from 10 am to 2 pm.
Recently, the state governments of Bihar and Jharkhand also declared school holidays due to the ongoing cold wave.
