Anupam Kher to star in YRF Entertainment’s slice of life film ‘Vijay 69’
Veteran actor Anupam Kher will play the lead role in YRF Entertainment’s upcoming OTT film Vijay 69.
Akshay Roy, the filmmaker behind Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra’s 2017 film Meri Byari Bindhu, is directing the film.
Vijay 69 will chronicle the life of a heterosexual man (Ker) who decides to take up a triathlon at the age of 69, according to a YRF Entertainment press release.
Filmmaker Manish Sharma, known for directing YRF titles like Band Baja Bharat, Shuth Desi Romance and Fan, is producing the film.
Vijay 69 is the third project of YRF Entertainment, the digital arm of Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) newly launched production banner.
The company had previously announced two OTT series—The Railway Men and Mandala Murders.
Railway Men is described as a tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. It stars R Madhavan, KK Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan.
Mandala Murders will mark actor Vaani Kapoor’s OTT debut. Touted to be a gritty crime thriller, the show is directed by Gopi Puthran of Mardaani 2 fame.
