TYFI State Secretary VK Sanoj complained to DGP Anil Kant that the trailer of the recently released Hindi film insulted the southern state and spread sectarianism.
In the complaint, the left-wing organization alleged that the trailer, which portrays some members of the Muslim community as ISIS terrorists, would create communal divisions in the society and lead to riots.
There is an “ulterior motive” behind the misrepresentation of the state, saying it is Kerala’s story.
The film’s trailer is a “criminal offence” under IPC Sections 153A and 295A (which criminalises the promotion of enmity between groups on the basis of religion) and hence the film’s producer and director should be booked under it. Sections and inquiry should be initiated against them.
